David Angar, a radical social activist, volunteered for an experimental procedure intended to grant him superhuman abilities. Exposed to advanced technology brought to Earth from Titan by the priestess Moondragon, Angar developed extraordinary vocal powers. Although Moondragon envisioned the experiment as a means of creating additional allies against the mad titan Thanos, her former associate, Kerwin J. Broderick, instead exploited Angar by recruiting him as a special operative in his criminal organization. Angar’s initial mission was to eliminate Daredevil and the Black Widow, but Daredevil ultimately persuaded him to abandon the role of a murderer. In the aftermath, Angar chose to use his abilities for personal benefit, and his activities have since placed him in conflict with figures such as Iron Fist and the original Spider-Woman.

While he was incarserated for his misdeads he lost his powers, Master Kahn later reinstated them.During a later robbery the police shot and killed him. The Fixer later used Angar's essence to create Scream, a being of pure sound who joined the Redeemers. At his request, a teammate Songbird dispersed him permately.

STRENGTH LEVEL: Angar possesses the normal human strength of a man of his age, height, and build who engages in moderate regular exercise.

KNOWN SUPERHUMAN POWERS: Angar possesses the ability to vocally emit piercing screams that can create convincing, seemingly tangible hallucinations in anyone who hears his voice. His screams sonically stimulate the chemicals of the brain, creating natural toxins that induce hallucinations. Angar cannot control the specific content of his victim's hallucinations. Instead they are products of the victim's own subconscious. His power does tend to induce psychotic and nightmarish fantasies, however.

Angar's scream will affect anyone within the sound of his voice to some degree. The closer one is to the source, the longer one will hallucinated. Recovery time for the average human being standing 50 feet from his scream is approximately one hour. Recovery time for an average human being at three feet from him is approximately twelve hours. Angar is able to scream at an amplituded of 180 deciBels (in the gigacicle range). The audible portion of his scream , which is only a harmonic of the full range of sound produced, is around 138 dB. He can cause permanent hearing damage to those standing too close to him.

Angar is immune to the toxic effects of his own powers. His vocal cords have more stamina that those of normal humans, enabling him to scream at maximum power for over an hour, pausing only for breath.

A side effect of his power is that very few people can remember that he was hearby when their hallucinations began. How this sejective amnesia effect work is not yet known.
