Cletus Kasady is the homicidal monster known as Carnage and one of the most terrifying villains active on Earth-358. Unlike criminals motivated by wealth, conquest, or revenge, Kasady is driven by a desire to spread chaos and violence wherever he goes. Bonded to a living symbiote born from remnants of the Venom symbiote, he has become a living engine of destruction whose brutality threatens heroes and villains alike.
Official Earth-358 material describes Carnage as being born from the deranged mind of Cletus Kasady and fueled by remnants of Venom's symbiote. The result is a creature of bloodthirsty fury and savage instincts, a being whose actions are guided not by reason or ambition but by an insatiable desire for carnage and destruction.
Expand full history
Very little information has currently been revealed regarding Cletus Kasady's early life on Earth-358. However, official sources have confirmed that he was already deeply disturbed before becoming Carnage. His violent tendencies and deranged personality made him a dangerous individual long before he bonded with the alien organism that would transform him.
At some point, Kasady came into contact with remnants of the Venom symbiote. Rather than merely enhancing his abilities, the bond amplified the darkest aspects of his personality. The symbiote embraced Kasady's violent impulses while Kasady welcomed the power it granted him, creating a perfect union between host and organism.
The transformation produced Carnage, a creature whose bloodlust and unpredictability far exceed those of ordinary criminals. Unlike villains who seek to control others, Carnage appears to take pleasure in destruction itself. Every confrontation becomes an opportunity to unleash violence on an ever-increasing scale.
Carnage's abilities make him one of the most dangerous members of the Masters of Evil. While many villains rely on strategy, advanced technology, or organized criminal operations, Carnage thrives on fear, confusion, and overwhelming brutality. His unpredictability often makes him more dangerous than opponents possessing greater resources or influence.
Visual depictions portray Carnage as a constantly shifting mass of living symbiote matter capable of forming weapons and attacking from multiple directions simultaneously. Combined with Kasady's complete lack of restraint, these abilities make him extraordinarily difficult to stop once unleashed.
As Earth-358 continues to develop, future stories may reveal additional details concerning Kasady's past, the circumstances surrounding his bond with the symbiote, and his role within the Masters of Evil. What is already clear, however, is that Carnage stands among the greatest threats currently facing the heroes of Earth-358.
Strength Level: Carnage possesses vast superhuman strength far beyond that of an ordinary human. The exact limits of his Earth-358 incarnation remain unrevealed.
Known Superhuman Powers: Carnage's abilities stem from his bond with a living symbiote created from remnants of the Venom symbiote. This union grants him immense strength, speed, agility, stamina, durability, and regenerative capabilities. The symbiote can reshape itself into a variety of offensive and defensive forms, allowing Carnage to adapt instantly to changing combat situations.
By manipulating the symbiote's biomass, Carnage can generate bladed weapons, spikes, tendrils, whips, and other deadly appendages. These constructs can emerge from virtually any part of his body, enabling him to attack multiple opponents simultaneously or strike from unexpected angles. The symbiote's fluid nature also makes conventional restraints and defenses significantly less effective.
Carnage's regenerative abilities allow him to recover from injuries that would incapacitate most opponents. Combined with Kasady's complete disregard for his own safety, this makes him an exceptionally relentless combatant. His fighting style emphasizes overwhelming aggression, unpredictability, and relentless pressure.
The symbiote's close connection to Kasady's violent psyche further enhances his effectiveness in battle. Rather than serving as a tool, the organism functions as an extension of his murderous instincts, creating a nearly perfect predator whose only apparent goal is destruction.
Other Abilities: Expert intimidation, unpredictable combat tactics, extensive criminal experience, psychological manipulation, relentless determination.
Carnage does not normally employ conventional weapons. Instead, the symbiote itself serves as a living arsenal capable of forming blades, spikes, tendrils, shields, and other offensive or defensive structures. These manifestations can be generated instantly and altered as needed during combat, making Carnage one of the most versatile close-quarters combatants on Earth-358.
