The Death Dimension is a waystation of sorts for the spirits of those who have suffered physical death, but whose souls have not been claimed by any of the various "After lifes" of the Marvel Universe. The Death Dimension is referred to by that name in MARVEL FANFARE #6, but the existence of such a place is hinted at on several different occasions in Marvel comics, using such euphemisms as the "Land of Shades," the "Realm of Shadows," and the like. The "Dimension of Death" Balder visited in THOR #177 is, however, not the same place.
