Not much is known of Manchester's life prior to the day his spirit was removed, from his body, from the hospital in New York and it was transformed by the Heliopolitan god, Seth, into the being known as Skyhawk. As Skyhawk, he followed the rest of Earth Force into battle against the Asgardians Hogun the Grim and Thor.

As with the rest of Earth Force, he was injuried again while battling against Seth, but was healed by the other Heliopolitan god and returned mere moments after Seth had taken him.
