HISTORICAL DATA

Carol Danvers enlisted in the United States Air Force at a young age and quickly distinguished herself, rising to become one of military intelligence’s most accomplished operatives. She frequently partnered with fellow agent Michael Rossi, who eventually became her romantic partner. After leaving active intelligence work, Danvers accepted a position as head of security at NASA’s Cape Canaveral facility, where she first encountered the Kree officer Captain Mar-Vell. During a confrontation between Mar-Vell and his rival Yon-Rogg at a concealed Kree installation on Earth, Danvers was inadvertently exposed to the energies of the Psyche-Magnitron, an experimental Kree device. This exposure radically altered her genetic structure, granting her superhuman strength, the power of flight, and a precognitive “seventh sense.”

Empowered by these abilities, Danvers adopted the identity of Ms. Marvel and emerged as a prominent defender of Earth. During this period, she supported herself as a magazine editor and freelance writer in New York City. Her career as Ms. Marvel was abruptly disrupted when she battled the mutant Rogue, whose power-absorption abilities stripped Danvers of nearly all her superhuman capabilities. Rogue also absorbed Danvers’s memories, leaving her psychologically fractured. Although Professor Charles Xavier later restored most of those memories, he was unable to recover the emotional connections that had once given them meaning.

Danvers’s evolution did not end there. She was later captured by the alien Brood and subjected to an evolutionary process that unlocked the dormant potential within her altered genes. This transformation elevated her into a being of immense cosmic power known as Binary. Possessing abilities far beyond her former Ms. Marvel persona, Danvers found herself emotionally detached from the life she had once known on Earth.

With her ties to Earth weakened and her sense of identity fundamentally changed, Carol Danvers chose to leave the planet behind. She joined the Starjammers, a band of spacefaring adventurers, embracing a new existence among the stars and pursuing a destiny shaped by cosmic exploration rather than terrestrial concerns.

POWERS AND ABILITIES

Strength Level: The energies that Binary taps give her Class 100 strength, She can lift (press) over 100 tons.

Known Superhuman Powers: Binary can tap the energy of a white hole, that region of space which is the exit-point of a point singularity's ultimate inward collapse out of this universe and into another. (A black hole is a slightly more massive star than Earth's sun that has aged to the point that its fusion reaction has burned most of its hydrogen fuel and can no longer balance the weight of its outer layers with stellar flame. When the imbalance reaches a critical point, the outer layers collapse inward, producing depending on the original mass of star, a neutron star, black hole, or point singularity. A point singularity is such an extreme distortion of the space/time fabric of our universe that it extends into another universe. Under some circumstances, the extension is able to loop back into our space/time at some distance. This reentrance into our universe is a white hole.) This inter-dimensional breach is the 'weak" point at which Binary is able to divert small portions of cosmic energies into mentally activated disturbances of the space/time continuum around her. She is able to shape these disturbances into various lenses that focus or diffuse these relatively vast energies for a number of star-like effects. Binary is able to radiate heat, light, and the rest of the electromagnetic spectrum as well as gravity. Presumably the total amount of energy she can manifest is related to the cross-section, or "'window" she allows to open between universes. For example, an 8-inch diameter "hole" in the surface of a point singularity would let out a torrent of various energies. Binary is apparently able to apply a mental filter to these energies, allowing only the energies she chooses to pass through.

By directing stellar energy uni-directionally, she has a means of propulsion enabling her to fly at near light speed. Whether she can travel unaided through inter-universe regions is not yet known. She also has a sensitivity to the flux of ambient cosmic energies, giving her certain heightened perceptions.

Binary has a steady flux of cold "pseudo flames" corruscating in small spheres around her head and hands that represent the greatest regions of her concentration.

Limitations: The limitations of Binary's physical form are not yet known. There is, however, a limit to how long she is able to remain in her Binary state. After a massive expenditure of the gamut of stellar energies, she reverts to her human form, and must rest for an undisclosed length of time. Her precise limitations (how long she can remain as Binary with a moderate expenditure of energy, etc.) are not yet known.
