HISTORICAL DATA

Seeking shelter in an underground tomb in the eastern desert of Egypt, Abdul Qamar discovered a magic scimitar and flying carpet that had belonged to a Thirteenth Century ancestor who had been a champion of his people. Qamar decided to carry on his ancestor's tradition by battling evil as the Arabian Knight.

POWERS AND ABILITIES

STRENGTH LEVEL: The Arabian Knight posseses the normal human strength of a man of his age, height, and build, who engages in moderate regular exercise.

SUPERHUMAN POWERS: None. The Arabian Knight's power derives from his three magical devises.

WEAPONS: The Arabian Knight wields a magical carpet that responds exclusively to his mental commands. The carpet is capable of lifting off the ground and propelling itself through the air at any speed the Knight directs, though he rarely exceeds approximately 90 miles per hour, the maximum speed at which he can breathe comfortably. The carpet can ascend to any altitude the Knight commands; however, he has never attempted flight above 20,000 feet, beyond which the atmosphere becomes too thin to sustain respiration. In addition to serving as a means of transportation, the carpet can be commanded to perform a variety of offensive and defensive maneuvers, such as wrapping around objects or individuals, or coiling into a cylinder to strike with the force of a whip or battering ram. Empowered by unknown magical forces, the carpet is virtually impervious to damage.

The Arabian Knight also wields a golden scimitar capable of emitting beams of concussive magical energy. The maximum force of these discharges is unknown, as is whether the weapon requires any recharge time between uses. The Knight can mentally regulate the intensity of the emitted force. The scimitar is enchanted to release magical energy against anyone other than the Knight who attempts to touch it. In addition to its ranged capabilities, the weapon may be used conventionally for slashing and thrusting, and is capable of cutting through steel, stone, and other dense materials.

At the Knight’s waist is a belt-sash that can likewise be animated through mental command. It may function as bindings, a lariat, a whip, or a climbing rope. Constructed from the same substance as the flying carpet, it is similarly indestructible. The sash can magically extend to nearly ten times its normal length of four feet.
